6 Film Villains and the Au Naturale Faces Behind Them

What does it take to be an iconic movie villain? I don’t know, but these people do! Check out the notable, naughty characters and see the actual human faces behind the mask, or CGI, or green paint... you get the idea.

1. Darth Vader

David Prowse was the first "face" of Darth Vader AKA Anakin Skywalker. Spoiler alert! (Did I do that right?) But the original voice of ol' DV was, of course, James Earl Jones.

2. Lord Voldemort

English actor Ralph Fiennes did, like, legit Shakespeare and was in Schindler’s List, but he will forever be known in the hearts of '90s-kids as He-Who-Shall-Not-Be-Named.

3. Freddy Krueger

You're all my children now, Kentucky. Freddy visits #TheScarefest Sept 29 - Oct 1.

Robert Englund played your favorite creepy character dressed like a Gap mannequin. Robert is very active on Instagram and we dig that. I have never seen A Nightmare on Elm Street so that is all I have to say.

Wake up Lexington! I want to see all my Freddyettes and Freddy ink #TheScarefest 9/29 -10/1. Tell 'em Freddy sent ya!

4. Scar

Wee-ooh-wee-ooh (that’s an alarm sound), we have another Brit villain on our hands. Jeremy Irons is the man behind Scar. The scene when Scar does the very bad thing to Mufasa is so intense for me that I have to leave the room. Add that to your Andi Hester trivia knowledge!

5. Pennywise

Tim Curry played the original Pennywise. First thought: is he related to Steph Curry? *Googly google de goo* No. The recent Pennywise was played by Bill Skarsgård. First thought: is he related to Alexander Skarsgård? *Googly google de goo* Yes! He is!

6. Wicked Witch of the West

The ultimate bad b, the Wicked Witch of the West was played by Margaret Hamilton, who was a kindergarten teacher before she began pursuing acting full-time. Shiver me five-year-old timbers! Hamilton is the top-ranking female villain of all time (according to the 2003 AFI list of 50 Top Movie Villains) and the fourth top villain ever! Get it girl!
